Office Furniture Delivery: Access, Handling and Handover

Office furniture delivery needs planning around both the goods and premises. An item that fits on the vehicle may still need extra people or equipment to reach the agreed handover point.

Measure the Goods and Access

Give dimensions and weights for each packed unit. Say whether furniture is assembled, flat-packed or unboxed. Measure doorways, corridors and lifts where the agreed service includes carrying beyond the entrance.

Photographs help explain access but do not replace measurements and a clear handling description.

Agree What Handling Includes

Confirm the number of people, loading equipment and delivery point. A dedicated vehicle does not automatically include upstairs carrying, a two-person crew, assembly or packaging removal.

Discuss these tasks before accepting the quote so the allocated vehicle and team match the work.

Prepare Furniture and Coordinate Sites

Protect vulnerable surfaces and secure loose parts. Follow supplier guidance and declare upright, fragile or high-value items. Check applicable cover. Protective blankets support careful handling but do not replace suitable packaging.

Give parking, loading-bay, opening-hour and security details. Confirm who assists with loading and unloading.

Record the Handover

For several destinations, identify counts and recipients for each stop and agree the route in advance. Check goods at delivery and record visible damage or shortages.

Keep the job reference and proof of delivery with the item list. Send your furniture delivery requirements or explore light haulage.
