An urgent return can fail at the receiving door if the supplier has not authorised it. Before arranging a courier from Newport, confirm the destination, return reference and person or department accepting the goods. A dispute about the product or credit should be resolved between the businesses, not left for the driver to negotiate.
Identify the item, serial or order reference and quantity. Ask whether the return is for inspection, repair, exchange or credit and obtain the correct receiving address. The company’s registered office or original dispatch depot may not handle returns.
Check the receiving hours and any appointment requirement. If the return is part of an exchange, clarify whether the replacement is released before or after inspection. A courier collection does not guarantee a same-day replacement or refund.
Tell BHA if the goods are damaged, incomplete, leaking or no longer in their original packaging. Faults can change the transport requirements. Declare batteries, residual fluids and other unusual contents before acceptance, especially where the goods differ from a clean new item.
Package the return appropriately and secure loose accessories. Provide the dimensions and weight after packing. Keep the supplier’s return reference visible and the package count consistent with the collection instruction.
Explain whether the goods must reach the supplier before a repair slot, receiving cut-off or another agreed milestone. Give the genuine collection-ready time. BHA can assess the transport plan, but the supplier must confirm what happens after receipt.
Keep a named contact available at both ends and agree the evidence required at delivery. A handover record can show that the consignment reached the agreed recipient; it does not establish that the supplier accepted the product fault or agreed the commercial outcome.
