Palletised Components from Newport: Stackability Is Part of the Quote

Two pallets with the same footprint can need very different transport arrangements. One may carry stable boxed components; another may hold exposed parts that cannot support anything above them. For a Newport pallet enquiry, explain the load’s shape and limitations as well as its dimensions.

Measure the complete packed pallet

Give the overall length, width and height, including overhanging components, protective frames and packaging. Provide the total weight including the pallet or crate. If there is more than one pallet, specify each separately rather than providing an average that hides an unusually tall or heavy unit.

State whether the load can be stacked and, if so, what the supplier has confirmed is safe. Do not label a pallet stackable simply because its top looks flat. Projections, uneven weight distribution and fragile surfaces can affect the loading plan.

Check stability and preparation

Have the sender secure the goods to a suitable base and protect vulnerable surfaces. A pallet with damaged boards or an unstable load should be addressed before collection. Ask the person preparing the goods to follow the relevant product and packaging guidance; the courier should not be expected to redesign the packing on arrival.

Tell BHA about sharp edges, liquids, batteries or other contents requiring an acceptance check. Provide photographs where they help explain an unusual load, but keep written measurements and weights with the booking.

Agree how the pallet will move on and off the vehicle

Confirm the equipment and staff at both ends. If unloading relies on a tail lift or pallet truck, describe the ground surface, slopes and space available. Vehicle selection must account for the load and the handling method together.

Give the goods-in hours and any booked delivery slot. A destination that can receive parcels may not be able to accept a pallet without preparation. Confirm who will take responsibility for the load at the agreed handover point.

Request a specification-based quotation

See BHA’s Wales coverage for Newport and pallet delivery information. Send the pallet specification and both postcodes, including stackability and unloading requirements. BHA will confirm suitability and availability. This is general pallet-planning guidance, not a declaration that any particular load is safe to stack. Reviewed 16 October 2026.
