Courier Service FAQs

Does submitting an enquiry confirm my booking?

An enquiry requests a quote. We confirm the booking separately after agreeing the details. Regular customers can request repeat loads through their established arrangements.

Business credit accounts are available on request, subject to approval. Contact us to discuss suitable payment terms.

For urgent same-day bookings, we aim to collect within one hour once the booking and payment arrangements are confirmed, subject to location and vehicle availability. The collection estimate is agreed for your job. Contact hours are 07:30–18:00 UK time, including weekends and bank holidays.

Printable proof of delivery can be emailed directly when the goods are delivered. Your own paperwork can be scanned and returned by email, or originals returned by post.

Standard goods-in-transit cover is £10,000, subject to the applicable policy terms and exclusions. Tell us the value and nature of your goods before booking. Higher cover can be arranged if required and may cost extra.

Most BHA work uses vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes gross vehicle weight. Larger vehicles can be sourced for individual jobs, or we can develop arrangements and pricing for regular requirements. Vehicle choice depends on the dimensions, weight and handling needs of your load.

Visit our carbon reporting page for the net-zero commitment and status of our reporting review. For a tender or supplier assessment, contact us about the period and evidence required. The page does not provide a current verified emissions inventory.

Contact BHA promptly with the job reference. We will review the request and explain any amendment or cancellation charges under your agreed quotation and booking terms. Obtain acknowledgement and confirmation of the revised instructions; sending a message alone does not confirm a change.

Check the loading allowance and any waiting, extra-stop, handling or redelivery charges when reviewing your quote. Tell us about extra crew, stairs, tail lifts and site delays before booking. Changes to the agreed load, access or instructions may require a revised price.

Provide a reachable delivery contact and receiving hours when booking. If access or receipt becomes a problem, contact BHA promptly so we can agree the next step. An unattended delivery or alternative handover must be authorised; a further journey is subject to availability and the applicable booking arrangements.

Declare hazardous materials, batteries, liquids, perishables, medical samples and unusually valuable or fragile goods before booking. We assess the goods, packaging, vehicle and handling requirements before accepting the job. Refrigeration, specialist carriage or restricted-site access must be explicitly agreed.

Will my goods travel in a dedicated vehicle?

Same-day and direct services use dedicated vehicles. Economy services may carry other customers’ goods. Pallet transport can be dedicated or shared, as discussed and confirmed before booking.

Normally 2–4 working days, subject to route and availability. A faster service, including same day, may be possible when a suitable vehicle is available. Your collection and delivery schedule is agreed individually.

We assess the dimensions, weight and access before choosing the vehicle and handling arrangements. Protective blankets are provided for delicate items. Customers can package their goods, or additional packaging can be arranged at extra cost. Customer assistance, extra crew, tail lifts and suitable trolleys can be arranged as needed.

Standard delivery is to the front door, or kerbside for pallets. Discuss access and any special handling requirements when requesting a quote.

Fresh location updates can be emailed every 15 minutes on request.

Contact hours are 07:30–18:00 UK time, including weekends and bank holidays. Collection and delivery timings are agreed for the booking.

Each load receives a tailored quote based on the route, goods, vehicle, timing and handling requirements. Send your delivery details so we can quote accurately.

Contact BHA promptly with the job reference, item count and relevant photographs or delivery records. Record visible damage or shortages at handover and retain packaging where relevant. We investigate against the agreed service, booking terms and applicable cover; ask about the reporting and claims process before booking.

Payment is required before collection unless credit terms have been agreed. Bank transfer is preferred; ask our team about card payment arrangements. We dispatch after the booking and payment arrangements are confirmed. The collection estimate is agreed for your job, subject to location and vehicle availability.

The quotation states its validity period and VAT treatment. Check the vehicle, service, loading allowance and any agreed additional charges before confirming. If the load, route or date changes, ask us to reconfirm price and vehicle availability.
