Knowing Me, Knowing You
When planning this little blog, we had intended on including photos, however COVID-19 has put a stop to that. We aren’t able to get the roots touched up or the eyebrows tidied up, (and that’s just Brian), and so you will all have to wait a little bit longer to put a face to a name..... we can tell how devastated you are by that. In the meantime, here is a little bit about us. STAY SAFE!
Brian Arkless. Director
Brian was born at very early age in Hackney, London, before moving to North Wales where he grew up. At 16 years of age, Brian joined the British Army, during which time he met his wife Heike, and spent 24 years serving Queen and country. It was the various different deployments, facing logistical challenges and problems needing to be resolved, that he acquired management skills he utilizes today running BHA.
After having served a prestigious 24 years, he then moved back to the UK, where he started work at Sherborne School to run their combined cadet force and transportation fleets. As his interest in logistics and transportation increased, Brian started a small business delivering locally produced goods from the local areas in the South West. Over time, as business increased, Brian gave up his position at the school and concentrated on the logistics world. He has now incorporated the business as the Director and has expanded to provide a service across the whole of the UK.
Heike Arkless. Finance Manager
Heike comes from Dortmund, Germany. She is married to Brian and they have one son, Patrick.
Heike has a degree in Medicine and has worked in the practical as well as administrative side of this. As things with BHA Courier progressed and it was obvious that there was the need for administrative management, Heike stepped up and is now well established to manage all of the accounting needs of the company.
In her spare time, Heike enjoys traveling, reading and arguing with Brian
Emma Tripp. Acquisitions
Emma, is the latest member to join the team having started her contract with BHA Couriers in Jan 2020. Originally from Hertfordshire, she has a Business Management Degree and graduated from Leeds University in 2014. Emma previously worked for retailer Tesco in communications and as a PA for 4 years. She loves traveling and visiting new places. Emma has 2 dogs, a Whippet called Fynn and a little crossbreed called Mimi who was rescued from a shelter in Turkey, as well as 2 cats. Together they love beach and mountain walks (well maybe not the cats), and exploring new places at the weekends. In her spare time, you will find Emma helping to fundraise for various animal charities.
