Receiving a New Booking
As dispatchers, we are responsible for booking in jobs, arranging the locations for drivers and overseeing the whole courier process. A typical day starts with coffee before the phone starts to ring and emails fly in. Customers send us over details of the collection/delivery addresses and what the load consists of, and with this information, we can determine which van is suitable and the drivers we have available. We then quote the job based on the job specification and wait for the customer to give us the go-ahead.
Each job is then added into our system, and the paperwork is prepared. Once prepared, we then pass this information over to the driver, either the day before or on the day, depending on the booking.
Our role within the courier process is very fast paced, often with a quick turnaround from taking a customer’s call, to getting everything booked in, to passing all the details over to our drivers.
Managing a Job
Throughout the whole process, there is communication between us dispatchers and the drivers, as well as possible updates sent across from our customers. One thing you can be sure of when booking with BHA Couriers for same day deliveries is the level of customer service you will receive. We pride ourselves in going the extra mile to provide updates on the ETA of a delivery, and getting the POD to customers once the delivery is complete.
Once a courier job has been delivered, our drivers ensure they have got all the required paperwork signed off. This is then sent back to us so that we can sign the job off and confirm to our customers that their items are where they need to be.
Once we are happy all is as it should be, we send the paperwork on to accounts, and our work is done!
